Discover the joys of reconnecting to nature on a Forest Bathing Walk. No nudity involved and nothing to do with taking a bath or shower! Forest Bathing is a sensory experience of immersion in nature. It involves guided meditation, slow wandering and gentle invitations to connect to the natural world in deeper ways than we might normally. Throughout the walk we take time to stop and share our experience. The practice brings us into deeper connection with ourselves, our community and the natural world. It has well documented health and wellbeing benefits, and also inspires us to become more connected and caring custodians of the environment.
Your guide, Louise, is one of the first certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guides in Australia. Although the walk will be less than 1 km in length, it involves uneven bush tracks, and requires moderate fitness and agility. It is not suitable for children under 12.
Meet at the Visitor Centre in the Field of Mars Reserve, at 8 am. Please bring closed shoes, a hat and water. Tea and coffee are available. A gold coin donation to the Ryde-Hunters Hill Flora and Fauna Preservation Society, who are hosting this event, would be welcome.
